Breaking in the KitchenAid / by Yeesum Lo

When you get a KitchenAid for Christmas (from the most amazing people on the face of this earth), you spend an inordinate amount of time figuring out what to break it in with - it can't just be anything. 

I decided on the Smitten Kitchen's Bee Sting Cake - soft, bready cake with a crunchy honeyl almond caramel topping and a vanilla bean custard filling. An everyday cake that is just a little bit out of the ordinary.
